Thank you for reading Random Fourth! After six months of biweekly posts, I'm going on hiatus for the off-season as the weather turns colder and my clubs get less use.
Remembering the season that was
You can find all the posts in the archive, but I'll go ahead and give you a recap right here. This first season included:
Several course reviews
- Hancock (Austin, TX)
- Avery Ranch (Austin, TX)
- Eagle Landing (Happy Valley, OR)
- Quail Valley (Banks, OR) - unfortunately a "course eulogy"
A series about my quest to break par for the first time
Two tournament recaps
- The 2024 Firecracker Open Qualifier (Austin, TX)
- The 2025 James H. Fyke Municipal Amateur (Nashville, TN)
And a few miscellaneous posts
- Video Game Strategy - playing golf video games to learn course management
- Using Math to Putt Better
- And one book review: The Inner Game of Tennis
What comes next
I'm planning to bring Random Fourth back in the future — hopefully next year, but I'm not sure exactly how long it will be until I'm posting again. I know I want to write more book reviews and more course reviews, and I have a few other ideas cooking as well.
If you want to be alerted for whatever comes next, stay subscribed and be on the lookout. Until then, enjoy the off-season and look forward to more golf in the future.
